In their book titled Sing!, Keith and Kristyn Getty maintain that “We are a singing people because it is how God has created us. It’s what we do.” Paul gives the church some specific instructions about the purpose for singing, as well as the plan for what to sing, in Colossians 3:15-17. We often focus the “psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” portion of those verses, but notice what it says about the “Why?” We sing for the purpose of teaching and admonishing one another. So, in our message today, we’re going to consider five reasons to praise the Lord as found in Psalm 145.
