For the past two months, we’ve been focusing our time each Sunday morning on the prayers of the Bible. As we’ve studied these various prayers and the teachings in Scripture about prayer, we have learned several characteristics of effective prayers, such as the urgency and desperation that we need to have when we pray and the need to live obediently or repent of any sin that may be separating you from the Father. One of the characteristics of prayer that has come up several times, especially during our community group discussions, is the issue of faith—in other words, what impact does my belief in what I am praying have on the outcome of my prayers? As we approach this subject, we’ll be studying from the teachings from the Book of James.
