This morning, we will be thinking about the topic of “Our Dependency when Trusting in God” and see how Jesus utilized children as an object lesson for His followers to understand what was necessary to enter the kingdom of God. Now, this incident carries on with the theme of humility and lowliness that we saw in the previous parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector. Jesus has just reminded those listening to Him that “everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted” (Luke 18:14). So, to further illustrate His point, He uses children as an object lesson to the crowd.
