If you are following along in your study book, then you know that this week we will be thinking about a psalm of imprecation (aka an imprecatory psalm). We will specifically be looking at Psalm 55 and its historical context—the rebellion of his son, Absalom.I believe that Psalm 55 is unique in that it provides us with a model for praying imprecatory prayers—a model that includes complaints and frustrations and a desire for God’s justice but ultimately trusts in God’s sovereignty to exact that justice in His time and in His way.
