After getting to the point where we know and understand our God-given personalities, there is a danger that we must guard against. The danger exists when we come to the fatalistic conclusion of: “That’s just who I am!” Instead of using personality test results as a tool, we sometimes view them as an infallible declaration of who we are and how we will act. Even worse, we can use them as an excuse for sin. We don’t ever want to get to the place in our spiritual walk where we decide that we’re not ever going to change. Of course, we should not change the basic tenets of our faith, but our understanding of God’s Word should continue to grow until the day we are called home to be with Him! Not one of us has come to their final destination as far as spiritual maturity is concerned. We all have more to learn, more to grow, more to change to be more like Christ! That is the key to all of this—we have been predestined to be “conformed to the image of God’s Son.” And until our attitudes, actions and thoughts are the spitting image of Jesus Christ, we still have more growing and changing to do.
