The Lord has gifted so many in our church family with the talent of creating scenes with the use of paint. Backdrops, wall art murals, creating crafts, themes, etc. Not too difficult to envision for some individuals. So why not share that talent with others? That is just what we are doing.
Mrs. Roller’s Garden Theme Backdrop
Westside teacher, Mrs. Roller, had a vision of a garden theme for her speech therapy room. She gave us an ides for the gArden themed backdrop for her classroom. Two ladies from our church family dred and painted the backdrop for her clas room free hand.
Thank you Elaine Simpson and Libby Bruce for creating a backdrop scene for Mrs. Roller’s classroom at Westside Elementary! It turned out awesome and Mrs. Roller appreciated us helping decorate her room.
Shubert Conscious Discipline Skit Backdrop
Conscious Discipline is a longtime leader in integrating classroom management and social-emotional learning. It utilizes everyday events rather than an external curriculum, and addresses the adult’s emotional intelligence as well as the child’s. Conscious Discipline empowers adults to consciously respond to daily conflict, transforming it into an opportunity to teach critical life skills to children. With Conscious Discipline, your teachers, your students and your entire school culture will become a safe haven of cooperation, constructive problem solving and academic success.
This backdrop will be used during the monthly skits that the Westside staff performs the student body. These skits help the students learn how to use the Conscious Disciple principles.

Pennant Themed Wall
The students are encouraged to dream and look forward to their future as an adult. This dreaming helps the child connect why they are currently going to school and assists in helping them envision their future. In an effort to give the students a visual representation of who they could be in the future, a pennant wall will be designed to include college, military, police, fireman, teacher, plumber, electrician, welder, etc.
